Hazel Ang, is a full-time artist presently working in Lowell, Massachusetts. She was born in the Philippines to a multi-cultural household, and grew up in Toronto, Canada. Soon after finishing studies in communication design, she moved to Germany where she lived and worked as a graphic artist in media and product design for the past 12 years. In 2012, feeling the need to create something of her own, she returned to painting part-time and quickly found herself making friends with contemporary artists and designers practicing pop-surrealism, dadaism and graphic art in Munich, Germany.

Typically, she paints on wooden panel and canvas employing rich colours; communicating personal narratives through a figurative style. Symbols for life, decay, hope and mysticism, are abundant in her works. Her art has been described as being symbolist, mystical, or mythological in nature.
